This past Wednesday night, after my 6x200 meter workout, I had a question:
"What were my times from a year ago in this workout?"
I'm upset at myself because I have no idea if I'm training faster or slower than a year ago. I feel faster than a year ago, but I really don’t know. So due my addiction of blog writing, it only makes sense to start an online running log via WordPress. It's called www.400runworkout.wordpress.com
I will be giving details of my practice/workout with my times per rep. I may be putting in a little summary of my performance on that day (no more than 100 words). This is more of a tool for myself to keep track of all my workouts from now on so I can go back and look at what I was doing a month ago, six months ago, and a year ago.
I'm pretty excited to start logging my workouts daily and I believe this will be helping me a great amount in my running knowledge.
I won’t be advertising this new running blog on my Facebook or Twitter accounts, it is more for myself, but I hope you check it out once in a while. The link will be under my websites on Facebook and also on the "who i am" page of this blog. (top of this page)
Also, with my winter break coming to an end, I'd like to reflect on a few things that happened in these past two and a half weeks of training.
As a runner, we don’t get breaks, we don’t get time off: a day of not training is a day that you’re getting slower…We don't like to go slow.
Overall, this break was fun; I had a couple late nights, running two workouts past 11 PM in the Hansen, running the hill in the dark, running 60 seconds by myself time eight different times, having a lot of 1 on 1 time with both my coaches, making it to the weight room only to be the only one lifting, babysitting, watching the 2008 Olympics, a lot of reading of running articles due to boredom, a lot of blog writing, and just working hard.
I also set a few new goals for myself: I’m eating better, about 180 degree’s better. No more BK, soda pop, McDonalds, and anything else that isn’t good for a runners body.
Goal #2 is to tweet less: this probably sounds funny but I have a serious problem, hopefully it gets better.
Goal #3 is a personal goal that I won’t share, but I hope some people change their lifestyle or PEACE OUT!
Goal #4 is I want this next semester to be the best yet for me (academic wise).
I showed myself in the last few weeks that I really do love to run, talk about running, and even reading & writing about running.
Running is my life, so love me or hate for that!
